Beskrivelse

Walnut, Juglans, is a deciduous tree with twisting branches and a broad crown that grows in rich, moist soil. The tree's leaves are large, light green, odd-pinnate, with the terminal leaflet the largest. The bark is ridged and slightly furrowed. The walnut tree's fruit is a drupe surrounded by green husk that opens when it falls.

The fruit ripens in September-October, when it splits in two. The fruit is rich in fat and oil and utterly delicious.
