The lobster (homarus gammarus) is a widespread crustacean that lives on the seabed of most Danish waters. It is a bottom-dweller that prefers areas with stones and rocks, where it can hide when it molts. The lobster is easy to recognize by its sturdy, elongated, bluish-black color and its large crushing claws at the front.
The lobster mainly feeds on small fish, mussels and snails, which it uses its big claws to crush.
